SLE
SLE is a student-led outreach and mentorship organization at the University of Georgia dedicated to promoting higher education and supporting Georgia high school students as they explore their college options.
Through SLE, UGA students volunteer as mentors and help lead Sígueme, the organization’s annual empowerment and leadership conference for high school students. SLE also hosts Movimiento, a one-day program for recently admitted students that introduces them to UGA’s campus environment, academic resources, and student support services.
Georgia Daze
Georgia Daze is a two-tiered recruitment and engagement program designed to help students experience the University of Georgia, build meaningful connections, and access resources that support their success.
Tier One focuses on prospective and admitted high school students. Through campus visits and outreach events in communities across Georgia, students learn more about UGA’s academic opportunities, campus resources, and student experience. Admitted students may also participate in an immersive campus visit that includes attending classes, touring facilities, dining on campus, connecting with current students, and participating in campus activities.
Tier Two supports current UGA students by creating opportunities to connect with peers, faculty, staff, and alumni. Through academic, social, and professional development experiences, students strengthen their campus networks, build skills, and gain support as they progress toward their personal and professional goals.
ALL Georgia
The ALL Georgia Program supports community for all rural students at the University of Georgia. We connect these students with a network of resources and offer engaging programming focused on academic enrichment, leadership development, professional development, and community building. In partnership with the Office of Student Financial Aid and the Office of Student Success and Achievement, ALL Georgia also coordinates the ALL Georgia Scholars Program, providing financial aid to six outstanding students from rural Georgia each year.
Georgia Ready Summer Institute
The Georgia Ready Summer Institute is a one-week, cohort-based residential program for high-achieving high school students throughout Georgia who are going into their senior year. The institute’s focus will center on research and innovation.
During their experience, participants will begin exploring desired research interests, discovering how researchers identify problems, collect and analyze data, and engage in entrepreneurial and commercialization endeavors. Additional activities will provide the pre-collegiate scholars with a greater understanding of themselves, fostering enhanced critical thinking and public speaking skills by participating in an active-learning activity that will broaden their conceptions of community, uncovering how societal issues can impact their work. Most importantly, participants will gain a glimpse of what life as a UGA scholar is like, living in a campus residence hall, eating at our award-winning dining halls, as well as touring the Athens campus and various research facilities.
There is no cost to attend the institute.
Road Dawgs
Road Dawgs is an initiative aimed at inspiring high school students across Georgia to envision the limitless possibilities for their future and consider higher education as a part of that success. Through this program, current UGA students travel to various high schools, sharing their personal college experiences, answering questions, and encouraging younger students to explore the opportunities that a college degree provides.
A key component of the program is group discussions, which foster meaningful conversations between high school students and the Road Dawgs. These discussions create a supportive environment where students can ask questions about college life, academics, and the transition from high school to higher education.
